Global warming is caused due to the increasing level of carbon dioxide gas and other gases on the earth environment. It is only because of global warming we face uncertain natural calamities like flood, drought, rise in sea level, changes in weather patterns, cyclone, storms and much more.

Michelle Obama Pushes for Girls Education in Liberia

First lady Michelle Obama visited a leadership camp for girls in Liberia to launch her latest Africa visit Monday, urging the teens in one of the world's poorest countries to keep fighting to stay in school. With her own teenage daughters joining her, Obama told the girls she was just so thrilled to be here with you. I'm here to shine a big bright light on you, she said.

Education for girls is the central theme of the first lady's trip, which also includes stops in Morocco and Spain. She was welcomed on her arrival in Liberia with a red carpet and traditional dancers. In connection with the first lady's visit, USAID announced up to $27 million in funding in Liberia programming for Let Girls Learn, an initiative launched by Mrs. Obama and President Barack Obama last year.

Liberia was battered by civil wars between 1989 and 2003. Ebola swept the country in 2014, killing more than 4,800. Schools were closed for months.

Empathy in Education

Empathy can be termed as a non-cognitive skill, soft skill or social skill. It is a main thing that needs to be included in Education as it builds positive classroom culture, enables the students to strengthen relationship with other students and develops leadership skills.

Empathy means the ability of a person to understand the condition, thoughts and emotions of another person from their perspective (i.e feel the feelings of another by standing in their position). It is a positive psychological and intellectual identification process. Cognitive (empathy by thought), emotional (feel the emotions) and somatic or compassionate (feel the pain and take action) are the types of empathy.

Role of empathy in education:-

In 2012, researchers at McGill University in Montreal found a direct connection between empathy and learning capacity. It is part ofsocial and emotional learning (SEL) as it helps the students to manage emotions, establish relationships and solve life problems. It is an underlying foundation for student-teacher interaction that enables to know and connect with each other. This help the students to get rid of stress that affects their learning, brain development, memory power, reasoning ability and self control.

UK students raise Rs 7.92 lakh for a special school

It was their first visit and they struck the right chord with Bengaluru. Driven by a motto just giving the 16-member undergraduate students from De Montfort University, Leicester, United Kingdom, made their two-week stay memorable by raising 8,000 pounds (approximately Rs 7.92 lakh) for the Sheila Kothavala Institute for the Deaf on Old Airport Road.

The team made an artistic impression too they painted the assembly hall of the school and adorned it with artworks. The India Immersion programme was organized by the Bharat Welfare Trust (BWT), UK, a British charity organization.

The fund was raised through JustGiving online forum. For 19-year-old Dushal Limbani, learning basic sign language to interact with nearly 155 school children and serving them mid-day meals was an exhilarating experience.

The visual learning is one of the interesting and important style of learning. The visual learners learn easily by seeing pictures, graphs and diagrams. They have a habit of learning by seeing. So, they need a sharp and keen attention towards what they see. They are tend to be the fast talkers and they interupt with others in a group discussion. They need a quiet atmosphere while studying. When we compare visual learners in a classroom or a college, they always sit infront of the class for listening the class or lectures.

Auditory learning:-

As the word implies, you can guess what the style of learning is going to be. Yup, this is an easy go way of learning where we learn with audios. Learning audio lectures and notes is really an interesting way of learning.But, you need a keen attention while listening as in visual learning. But, when compared to visual learning , Auditory learning is quite easy and ofcourse funny at times. The Auditory learners usually associate words to take notes and references. They are slow learners and they study linearly. They explain things well.

Jharkhand education dept will launch Vriksha Lagao Abhiyan

The school education and literacy department will soon launch 'Vriksha Lagao Abhiyan' - a tree plantation drive across all government and private schools in the state. Chief minister Raghubar Das has directed all schools to organize an oath-taking ceremony for the plantation drive during morning assembly from June 20-30.

The month-long programme will begin July 1. As part of the initiative, schools have been directed to sow fruit and flowering plants on campus. Schools with boundary walls should also grow creepers, the order stated. Schools without boundary walls have been directed to set up bio fences using shrubs and hedges.

The department suggested planting mango, guava, jackfruit, banana, papaya, and litchi, among other fruit-yielding plants, as well as jasmine, marigold and other flowering plants. Schools can contact nearby nurseries to procure seeds. Since monsoon has arrived, growing plants should not be a problem. Schools have also been directed to install water harvesting system on the premises, said department secretary Aradhana Patnaik.
