EWS reimbursement to schools increased

The Delhi government has decided to increase the reimbursement amount it pays to private schools for free education of students under the economically weaker section by almost 25 per cent from the upcoming academic session.
According to education department officials, the government will now pay Rs 1,598 per student to private schools towards tuition fee and other expenses for admission under the EWS category. The TRS government’s proposal to launch the free ‘KG to PG education’ scheme in government institutions has not gone down well with students and parents.
This is because there are few takers for government schools and colleges due to poor facilities and teaching standards. The government plans to upgrade facilities and teachers but since it is a time-consuming process, they feel that the scheme may not be implemented in the near future.

The government of India, government of Madhya Pradesh and the World Bank signed a 300 million USD credit agreement for Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Quality Improvement Project, on March 1.
According to PTI, the project's objective is to improve student outcomes especially of disadvantaged groups in selected Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and to increase the effectiveness of the Higher Education System in Madhya Pradesh, a finance ministry statement said.
